Join us for Repair Café, a free, hands-on community repair event where neighbors help neighbors fix broken items, learn basic DIY repair skills, and extend the life of everyday things. Advance registration is recommended. This event is first-come, first-served.
How it works:
Bring your broken household items and work side by side with volunteer repair coaches who will help guide the repair process when possible. Repair Café is a collaborative learning experience. You must stay with your item during the repair. This is not a drop-off or pick-up service.
🛠️ What we repair:
Our volunteers have experience across many types of repairs and bring tools to help get the job done. Some replacement parts may be available, but not all. If a specialty part is needed, we may ask you to order it so the repair can be completed at a future Repair Café event.
⚠️ Please note:
• We do not repair dangerous or hazardous items (no firearms, microwaves, nuclear reactors, etc.)
• Our coaches are experienced volunteers, not specialists
• For highly specialized repairs (such as fine art restoration), we recommend contacting a professional
• You must remain with your item while it is being repaired

🌍 About Repair Café:
Repair Café began in Amsterdam in 2009 and has grown into a global movement with over 3,000 Repair Cafés worldwide, focused on education, community connection, and the right to repair.
The first Repair Café Charlotte was held in February 2024, and we’re excited to continue with six events scheduled for 2026.
Repair Café events are hosted at Innovation Barn (Envision Charlotte) on select Saturdays from 10 AM–2 PM.
