About this Event
WHO & WHAT: This is not a book club. It's a monthly space where we come together to read whatever we want, both by ourselves, and in community. Because reading can be hard, but it really is fundamental.
Bring a book or buy one here. We'll come together, read quietly, discuss a little louder, and maybe sip and snack on something.
Rep Club will provide light snacks and drinks, cozy (quiet!) vibes, ear plugs, and book lights to borrow or buy.
Feel free to bring anything that would make you feel at home (i.e. extra pillows, blankets, homies, or a book).
Live musical interlude by .

She was named a 2023 Emerging Artist by Harlem Stage WaterWorks, culminating in the showcase of new work created for the program, an audiovisual performance entitled “PROGRESS REPORT,” in New York City in early December 2023. Most recently, she performed with playwright Liza Jessie Peterson in a devised theatrical piece “Sistering,” in two commissioned performances for Harlem Stage in the fall of 2024. Her debut EP Like The Fruit, released in late 2022 and is available on all platforms.
WHEN: Friday, October 24th from 6:30-9:30pm*
WHERE: In-Person at Reparations Club (3054 S. Victoria Ave. LA, CA 90016)
HOW: Please purchase tickets above! We're offering three sliding scale ticket options ($5, $10, $20) to make this as accessible as possible while also covering our costs. Please pay what you can, and if the tickets are cost-prohibitive in any way for you, send us an email.
Pay up to $5: If covering basics feels like a stretch.
Example: You walk or bike because even the bus is too pricey, went without groceries last week to pay part of your rent, and prioritize keeping the lights on over a doctor’s visit.
Pay up to $10: If you usually make ends meet but watch every dollar.
Example: You work part-time, split rent on a shared apartment, treat yourself to takeout regularly, and borrow a friend’s car when gas prices spike.
Pay up to $20: If your essentials are solid and you have a bit left over.
Example: You hold a full-time position with benefits, pay rent on time every month, buy a new wardrobe item occasionally, and can take a weekend getaway without stressing your budget.
If you get in off the waitlist, there is a suggested donation of $5 minimum. If you want to pay more, you can, and you can also decline to pay $5.
*Confirmed Ticket Holders: doors are at 6:30pm sharp! Get here early for the best seats in the house. Late entry will be strictly based on capacity and, unfortunately, cannot be guaranteed.
If you are on the Standby/Waitlist, we’ll squeeze in as many waitlist folks as we can (comfortably & safely) starting at 6:40pm.
In order to provide this monthly space, which requires planning and staffing on our part, we really appreciate communication if you will no longer be able to attend. No-shows really cramp our style (of course excluding emergencies). Purchasing a ticket, at any price, means you're claiming a spot from someone else so please be mindful!
Event tickets are non-refundable.
