Renters in Bristol are struggling - rents shooting up, not enough properties to keep up with demand, landlords who don’t give a damn about safety and no regulation. And now the council is holding a sham commission into renting without the biggest organisation representing renters in town, ACORN Bristol. But guess who is invited to their so-called commission? Landlords. This reeks! And the resulting report won’t be worth the paper it’s written on.
But they forget who they’re dealing with - when ACORN members are shafted, we take action! Our members, allies and renters will be staging our own commission outside City Hall to make sure renters’ voices are not sidelined.
They think they can carry on their cosy little club without hearing the real stories of how renters are struggling every day - think again! We won’t be backing down on this. Come and join us in making sure renters are heard all the way inside City Hall. We will not be silenced.
Meet at 5.15pm at the College Green cathedral. And bring a chair (or two if you're able!)
