About this Event
**This is a free event, but please make a $10 donation if you can comfortably afford it. Arts organizations and festivals across Canada are currently struggling financially, and we are no exception. Our revenue has dropped 20% since last year, while inflation has pushed our costs much higher. If you enjoy the festival, please make a contribution so we can continue together for years to come.
Learn about the Ravine that inspired the Renfrew Ravine Moon Festival.
Local artist and ravine champion Carmen Rosen will lead you through one of Vancouver’s significant urban forests while telling stories of lost streams, old timers, plants, animals and eco-art. This tour will give you a new perspective on the Renfrew Ravine and Still Creek, the impact that a creek can have on a community, and the impact a community can have on an urban creek and the nature it supports.
About the Facilitator
Carmen Rosen is the author of “What Comes To Light: Stories of Still Creek Lost and Found" and has been a leader of community-engaged stewardship of the Renfrew Ravine for over 20 years.
Carmen is an award-winning visual artist, singer, and interdisciplinary performer. Her visual art can be seen in the stone mosaic pathways around Renfrew Ravine, giant puppets and stilt-walking characters at festivals and community parades, giant lantern installations at the Renfrew Ravine Moon Festival, and living mushroom sculptures, Fruiting Bodies, in Renfrew Community Park.
