Rencontres Poétiques: Poetic Encounters Concert Series
About this Event
“Rencontres Poétiques: Poetic Encounters” is a poetry-focused international concert series created by composer and former Artist-in-Residence Mary Bichner [USA] and Christina Goh [France]. The series features musical settings composed by Bichner and Goh for classic poems in both French and English; inspired by the works of Phillis Wheatley, Ovid, Edgar Allan Poe, Benjamin Franklin, Emily Dickinson, and more. Each version of the concert is customized to the venue and city in which it is performed, often with works either hand-selected or newly-composed for the occasion.
The concert is part of a four-city international tour of Rencontres Poétiques that will also include performances in Urval, France (November 20th); Casseneuil, France (November 21st); and Semblançay, France (November 25th - more details to be announced soon). September 26th at Mount Auburn Cemetery will be the only US date on the tour!
This performance will be held on Saturday, September 26 at 6:00 PM.
Please note this performance is a pay what you can program, with a suggested ticket price of $10. All are welcome to attend at a level that feels accessible.
