Producteur, réalisateur et écrivain, Benoît Cohen a réalisé sept longs métrages, dont Nos enfants chéris et Tu seras un homme. Après des études d’architecture puis de cinéma à NYU, il s’installe à Brooklyn en 2014. Ses œuvres littéraires, souvent autobiographiques, rencontrent un grand succès, qu’il s’agisse de son expérience de chauffeur de taxi à New York (Yellow Cab) ou de l’accueil d’un réfugié par sa mère (Mohammad, ma mère et moi). Son dernier livre, Formidable, livre un témoignage poignant sur la famille et la fin de vie.

Join us for an engaging conversation about writing ✍️, filmmaking ?, and his book Formidable.

During this evening, Benoît Cohen will present Formidable, now available in English — a deeply moving family memoir — and will also share insights into his current documentary projects, in a genuine spirit of exchange with the audience ?.

?️ Note: While the presentation and exchanges will take place in French, questions in English are welcome during the discussion session.

Producer, filmmaker, and writer, Benoît Cohen has directed seven feature films, including Nos enfants chéris and Tu seras un homme. After studying architecture and film at NYU, he settled in Brooklyn in 2014. His largely autobiographical literary works have enjoyed great success, from his experience as a New York City taxi driver in Yellow Cab to the story of his mother welcoming a refugee in Mohammad, My Mother and Me. His latest book, Formidable, is a poignant reflection on family and the end of life.
