Renaissance Society Fall 2024 Orientation and Open House

Who is the Renaissance Society?

The Renaissance Society of Sacramento provides opportunities for participatory lifelong learning and community engagement for adults. Our learning opportunities include seminars and other programs on widely varied subjects proposed and presented by our members. We have a wide variety of programs, five days a week. For the Fall 2024 semester, programs on Zoom will be offered Mondays through Thursdays. Other programs will be on the Sac State campus on Fridays; some will be in-person only, while others will be a combination of in-person and Zoom.

Please note: If you are not a Renaissance Society member with a parking pass, please obtain a two-hour or daily parking pass from the UTAPS office near the Welcome Center. Parking Structure II which is closest to the campus bookstore, is the nearest parking for this event.

Orientation: 10 - 11 am; Held in Ballroom III in The University Union. Learn WHY you should join this dynamic organization. You will hear about over 100 lifelong learning opportunities the Renaissance Society will offer during the semester. Subjects range from Art to Economics and Music to English History. Just about every conceivable subject is included, either as a multi-week seminar or single presentation

Open House 11 - 12:30 in Ballroom I & II in The University Union. Open House with coffee, tea and cookies. This session is a chance to socialize, meet new people, and visit tables hosted by our Sac State partners, our various committee chairs, and numerous community partners such as Friendship Force, Friends of the Library, and many others. Members not only enjoy learning, but also opportunities to interact with Sac State students by serving as mentors in the Gerontology Department, ushering campus theater and dance programs, and participating in Physical Therapy Department events. The Open House is a time to visit these partners and learn more about the opportunities they offer.

A campus tour will be offered at the end of the Open House.

There will be time for socializing! Please call a friend and make a date to bring them to the Fall 2024 Orientation and Open House in the University Union on August 16th.
