Hey Friends! Three years ago in 2022, our wonderful friend of Speer Megan donated some Iris rhizomes to us. They took a year to settle in but they bloomed beautifully for two years. They have grown healthy and beautiful, to the point they’re getting crowded and need some more room.
Sunday, September 28th, we will be digging some of them up to make space and keep them growing properly. If you’d like to help us out, you can take some home with you…plant them for yourself or pass them on as gifts like the fabulous Megan.
They are full sun perennials and require very little care other than keeping their base debris free. No mulch required!! They may take a season to bloom after being moved but are well worth the wait. They are spring early summer bloomers (April, May, June) and pair well with salvia, daffodils, allium and more! BONUS: Iris are great pollinators and provide excellent landing pads for bees and butterflies!!
