Voice of a Tenor brings audiences up close with two world-class Canadian artists in a warm, expressive recital. The program spans a rich tapestry of dramatic operatic arias, classic Italian melodies, beloved spirituals, musical theatre standards, and crossover favourites sung with pure vocal power and nuanced piano collaboration.
This performance highlights soaring vocal lines, virtuosic phrasing, and dynamic off-the-cuff storytelling.
Remigio Pereira is a JUNO Award-winning, multi-platinum recording artist, tenor, guitarist, composer, and producer. Renowned for his vocal range, emotional depth, and fiery musicianship, Pereira has captivated audiences worldwide by seamlessly uniting classical operatic tradition with contemporary classical crossover, sacred repertoire, and original composition.
Canadian conductor Maria Fuller is one of Canada’s captivating musical personalities. Described as a polymath, Maria performs internationally as a conductor, trumpeter, and pianist and is also an acclaimed vocal coach, award-winning composer, and sought-after arranger.
She conducts symphonic, ballet, and operatic repertoire, is a thoughtful curator of family and educational programs, and is an arranger and composer of fresh cinematic music containing a “new baroque” twist. In all that she does, Maria “radiates energy” (Ruch Muzyczny) and is gaining a reputation for her “vivid imagination, energetic personality” (Kalejdoskop), “precise gesture, and sensitivity to detail” from the podium (Ruch Muzyczny).
