You are cordially invited to join us in thanking those who have given so much to our Country, and join us in enjoying a day of reflection.
With have once again arranged some amazing entertainment to lift all spirits, and this year we welcome Andy Brown!!
A tribute to George Formby using vintage Banjoleles and happy songs from many other stars of the 1940s.
Andy has been involved in music since he was a teenager, he has played in various Cambridgeshire bands over the years, a multi instrumentalist, covering all styles of music.
His journey back to the 1940s started during lockdown when he added the ukulele to his collection of musical instruments. He had always enjoyed the war time songs and decided to start learning some of the classics including songs by George Formby. He now owns 18 banjoleles and ukes and is a member of the George Formby Society. He regularly performs at residential care homes in the area, as well as local carnivals, fates, private functions and wartime events.
2 years ago he got through to the live auditions of, Britain’s got Talent, after clearing two entry level appearances.
Sadly his act was dropped at the last minute due to a re-selection process so this never happened, he has re-applied this year and has secured a place in the 1st auditions again so he is keeping his fingers crossed he will get through again.
His show will take you back on a musical adventure, truly capturing the spirit of the blitz and the music that kept everybody’s hopes and dreams alive.
This is a free-entry event.
All service personnel (Active and Veterans) receive FREE Coffee before the parade, and a free tot after the ceremony as a small way of thanking them for their service.
Come along and join is doing the same
