This Remembrance Day, join us for a film screening of Cree Code Talker, a film that recognizes the role of Canadian Cree code talker Charles ‘Checker’ Tomkins during the Second World War. As Canadian law criminalized Indigenous languages, Cree was being used in World War II to save lives. This film captures a mixture of interviews, rare audio, archival documents, war footage, and a brother’s memories. An homage to a forgotten war hero.In addition to the film we will be displaying objects from other Indigenous veterans who contributed to Canadas War effort during The Second World War.
RAM is open 10 am - 4 pm on Remembrance Day, with the film screenings taking place from 12:45 pm - 1 pm and 1:30 pm - 1:45 pm. General admission prices are in effect for this day, screening included with your ticket.
