About this Event
Join us for an evening of remembrance, culture, and conversation at POSK. We will honour the victims of Katyń while exploring how memory and history continue to shape the lives of younger generations.
The evening begins with a talk on the Katyń Massacre, followed by a screening of The Last Witness by director Piotr Szkopiak — a drama that deals with the impact of the political intrigue in the UK after the Second World War, surrounding the Katyń Massacre of over twenty thousand Polish servicemen and intelligentsia in Russia.
The programme concludes with a Q&A with the director, creating space for discussion, reflection, and sharing experiences within our community.
📍 Sala Malinowa, POSK
🎟 Free entry (registration required)
🍽 Optional meal at Łowiczanka Restaurant (after the event) — a chance to continue conversations and connect with fellow attendees.
This is the first in a series of two events to bring us together honouring memory and fostering dialogue 85 years on since the Katyń atrocities. As before, has teamed up with (POSK), The Polonia Aid Foundation Trust and with Piotr Szkopiak, an independent filmaker of Polish roots to familiarise the diverse community of London with the events that shaped the fate of so many.
The second event will be held on September 22nd when we will meet at at 11 am at The Katyń Memorial in Gunnersbury Cemetery. It is on Eventbrite as a separate event: Remembering Katyń Victims - Memorial Walk & Discussion.
