Remembering Home: A Celebration of the Caribbean Immigrant Story
Come join us for an afternoon filled with culture and memories as we honor the rich history of Caribbean immigrants. Remembering Home is an insightful discussion coupled with a compelling play-reading delving into the immigrant experience in South Florida.
Hear a reading of "Leaving Jamaica," a short play featured in the esteemed City Theatre Miami Homegrown Playwright program. Following the reading, experience a thought-provoking dialogue exploring the themes of departure, belonging and the complex interplay between what we leave behind and what we carry with us to our new homes.
Don't miss the opportunity to provide valuable feedback to the playwright, Nerissa Street, as she invites insights into her work.
They say those who migrate have distorted memories, and create identities to combat homesickness. Do the characters of this play sound authentic to the many reasons we have to leave home?
This in-person event will take place at . See you there!
