About this Event

To remember, honor and raise funds for a statue of the late civil rights attorney, Gustavo (Gus) Garcia, the Gus Garcia Memorial Statue Fund, a non profit 501c corporation, invites the public to a free screening of “Remembering Gus Garcia” an oral history/documentary that provides more insight into what happened to Gus, along with a Platica (conversation) with people who knew Gus Garcia: speakers will be, retired Texas state senator from Austin, Gonzalo Barrientos, Army general Alfredo Valenzuela, University of Houston professor Tony Diaz, attorney and former Secretary of State, Roy Barrera, Sr. and Gus Garcia’s cousin Jacinto Juarez will share memories about Gus.

The event will be held at the Edgewood Fine Arts Academy Auditorium located at 402 Lance St, San Antonio, TX 78237 on July 27, 2022 from 6:30pm-10:pm.
