The Tunnel to Towers Foundation is transporting an authentic World Trade Center steel beam across the United States, bringing remembrance directly to Americans and connecting generations through a powerful symbol of service and sacrifice.
Join us for a day of reflection on Wednesday, August 5, including a viewing of the beam, a Mobile Music Box concert, a sounding of Taps and a pipe and drum performance.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
- The Museum and Memorial is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- 11 a.m.: Ceremony to welcome the beam. The public is invited to visit throughout the day and pay respects. A mobile museum will be in the West Visitors Lot.
- 7 p.m.: FREE concert from the Kansas City Symphony Mobile Music Box on Memorial Mall.
- 8:25 p.m.: Taps at the Tower, a brief, moving ceremony at the base of the Tower. St. Andrew Kansas City Pipe and Drum will play a concert following Taps.
