About this Event

Could you support a young person at a critical point in their life?

Remand foster carers provide short-term, stable homes for young people awaiting court outcomes or on bail. It’s a specialist role that offers young people stability, boundaries, and support during a challenging time.

At this informal drop-in event, you can learn more about what remand fostering involves, the support available, and whether it could be right for you.

  • Foster care
  • Youth justice or policing
  • Residential or secure children’s homes
  • Youth work, mentoring, or outreach
  • Education or behaviour support
  • Probation, mental health, or community safety
  • Working with vulnerable young people

What remand foster carers provide
  • A safe, stable home with clear and consistent boundaries
  • Support using a trauma-informed approach
  • Advocacy and partnership working with professionals including social care, youth justice services, schools and courts

What support you’ll receive

  • A dedicated supervising social worker
  • 24/7 professional support
  • £937 per week, plus additional allowances for the young person

Come along to meet the team, ask questions, and find out more in a relaxed, no-pressure environment.
