Relief Printing on Textiles Course

Suitable for beginners and those with some experience, this workshop will guide you through the process of designing, carving, and printing your own bold textile designs.

Across the two sessions, you will develop your ideas into effective relief prints, learning how to create and carve your own printing blocks while exploring pattern, repetition, and composition. You’ll gain practical experience in inking and printing onto fabric, experimenting with colour layering and techniques to achieve clean, consistent results.

With time to refine your designs and build confidence across both days, you’ll be encouraged to experiment and develop your own visual language. The course supports both structured outcomes and playful exploration, allowing you to create unique printed textiles such as tote bags or fabric samples.

By the end of the course, you will have produced a small collection of your own printed textile pieces and gained the skills and confidence to continue relief printing independently.

All basic materials and equipment will be provided, just bring your ideas and clothes you don’t mind getting inky!
