ABOUT THE BOOK
This book will encourage you to get in touch with your roots to help you heal after loss.
Gramcita, the colorful, complex matriarch of the family and her grandson (Max) have an unbreakable bond. Unfortunately, because of Gramacita’s strict, Catholic upbringing, her homophobia has kept Mac from telling her the truth of his own sexuality. He fears that Gramacita might leave this world before he can conjure enough courage to speak his truth, or worse, being completely and utterly rejected by her. After Max accepts his best friend’s invitation to a Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration, he begins to make peace with losing Gramacita, the woman he loved most in the world, but will she abandon him, even after her death or would she have embraced him all along?
