About this Event

Debut Album Viriditas

The release concert of Viriditas by the Sibil•la Ensemble combines medieval music with modern architecture, offering a new way of listening through the geometrical shapes and light of the Pastoor van Arskerk.

The concert presents 12th and 13th century chants and secular songs from Germany, Spain, France and Cyprus. Each piece is centred around the concept of Viriditas, which symbolises the vibrant, life-giving energy that permeates the natural world and the essence of greenness and flora.

The immersive audiovisual album by Sibil•la Ensemble was released on March 15th with the audiophile immersive label TRPTK.

Pastoor van Arskerk

Pastoor of Arskerk is a contemporary Roman Catholic Church designed by the known architect Aldo van Eyck, in 1969. The aesthetic, innovative design and spatial arrangement are influenced by the movements of brutalism and structuralism. The space conprises an enclosed rectangular space resembling a crypt and a high transverse area reminiscent of a Gothic nave. Pastoor van Arskerk has been recognized as a Municipality Monument of The Hague since 2004, and will become a National Monument within a few months.
