FREE EVENT, BOOKING REQUIREDRelaxed sessions are an opportunity for visitors who could benefit from a quieter Gallery experience to access NGV exhibitions with fewer people and reduced sensory stimuli. This may include people with autism, disability, dementia or chronic illness conditions. All ages are welcome.
Ancient Egypt for Kids:
In an exhibition inspired by the architecture and culture of ancient Egyptian kingdoms, young visitors can explore one of the world’s most fascinating civilizations through activities, games and quizzes relating to the Melbourne Masterpieces exhibition, Pharaoh. Children will learn about the art and culture of the powerful pharaohs, the building of the pyramids and discover what daily life was like for children as they decipher hieroglyphs, listen to tales from long ago and view Egyptian artefacts from the NGV’s collection on display in this exhibition.
Please note this exhibition contains a high volume of artworks that incorporate moving image and sound. Some of these installations will be turned down for these sessions.
