Relationship Foundations Series: De-Escalation & Exit Strategies

Relationships change…but most people were never taught how to navigate those changes with honesty, care, and integrity.
In this workshop, we will explore what it means to intentionally de-escalate, transition, or end relationships in ways that are consensual, compassionate, and aligned with each person’s evolving needs and capacity. Especially within non-monogamous dynamics, relationships do not have to follow a single path, and learning how to shift connection with care is just as important as learning how to build it.
Together, we will unpack the difference between de-escalation and rejection, examine the many ways relationships can evolve over time, and explore how to communicate changing needs without blame, avoidance, or unnecessary harm. We will discuss how to navigate difficult conversations around shifting intimacy, changing priorities, reduced capacity, and relationship transitions while maintaining honesty and respect for everyone involved.
We will also explore intentional endings and exit strategies: how to recognize when a connection is no longer aligned, how to avoid common pitfalls like ghosting or prolonged ambiguity, and how to move through grief, disappointment, and closure with integrity.
Whether you are navigating a transition now, struggling to let go of misaligned dynamics, or simply wanting healthier tools for future relationships, this workshop offers practical communication skills and a framework for ending or reshaping relationships without treating change as failure.
Doors open at 6:30pm. Workshop starts at 7pm.
The Relationship Foundations Series is designed to provide competency in core relationship skills that are necessary to maintain successful meaningful relationships. By identifying the most prominent friction points in the practice of transitioning and practicing non-monogamy, the series seeks to provide attendees with the knowledge and practical skills to avoid roadblocks, move through discomfort, and build thriving relationships.
