Date: Thursday 5th December
Time: 9.15am - 11.30am (venue open from 9am - 12noon for extra coffee/networking)
Location: Oasis Centre, Arundel Street, Portsmouth, PO1 1NP
Schwartz Rounds are a type of reflective practice designed to support practitioners, where staff can discuss the emotional and social aspects of providing care in a supported environment.
The overall goal is to improve care by addressing the well-being of health and care professionals. More details can be found at The Point of Care Foundation website.
These rounds are:
- Oriented around cases: Several practitioners will bring a story based upon a theme, sharing their experiences and feelings about their story, which is then followed by a facilitated discussion.
- Focused on emotional impact: They provide a space to explore the emotional impact of working in health and care, helping practitioners deal with stress, compassion fatigue and other emotional challenges.
- Enable interdisciplinary sharing: Participants come from various disciplines, fostering a holistic view of care, and promoting empathy among different team members.
- Offer support and reflection: The rounds aim to improve communication, enhance team cohesion, and promote personal well-being by encouraging open, honest conversation about the difficulties and rewards of their work.
