Reimagining Service Coordination in the Refugee Sector
About this Event
This June 18, at Wellesley Community Centre in Toronto, the African Canadian Collective (ACC) will bring together stakeholders from across the refugee-serving sector to engage in a dialogue on how we can collectively contribute to a more coordinated, responsive, and effective refugee-serving ecosystem — as part of ACC's Ubuntu Community Hub Dialogue.
The event combines community building, dialogue, and celebration through sport, creating space for meaningful connections both on and off the field.
Event Schedule
3:00 PM – 4:00 PM – Soccer Activities
4:00 PM – 5:30 PM – ACC Ubuntu Community Dialogue: Reimagining Service Coordination in the Refugee Sector
6:00 PM onwards – World Cup Match Viewing (Canada vs. Qatar) & Community Networking
Refugees, asylum seekers, and newcomer-serving organizations continue to navigate a system marked by service duplication, communication gaps, and limited coordination. While many organizations are working tirelessly to support newcomers, the sector's collective impact is often diminished when efforts remain disconnected.
This dialogue will explore how stronger relationships, clearer service pathways, and shared leadership can create a more coordinated, responsive, and effective refugee-serving ecosystem.
