The Vietnam–Canada Business Forum 2026 convenes at a moment when the global economic order is being fundamentally redrawn. Escalating trade tensions, accelerating supply chain restructuring, and rising pressure on both governments and businesses to diversify markets and reduce strategic dependencies are not temporary disruptions — they are defining the new competitive landscape. For Canadian companies, this is precisely the moment to act: the window for early-mover advantage in high-growth markets is open, and Vietnam is one of the clearest opportunities.

As two open, trade‑dependent economies committed to rules‑based international commerce, Vietnam and Canada are well positioned to deepen their partnership through high‑quality trade agreements such as the CPTPP, the ASEAN–Canada Strategic Partnership, and other bilateral and regional frameworks. Leveraging these agreements—together with timely adjustments in industrial strategy, production structure, and growth models—can help both countries enhance competitiveness and strengthen long‑term economic resilience.

The Vietnam–Canada Business Forum 2026 takes place immediately following the Third Vietnam–Canada Joint Economic Committee (JEC 3), held biennially. Building on the outcomes of JEC 3, the Forum serves as the principal platform for translating high‑level policy dialogue into concrete business cooperation and sector‑specific opportunities. On this occasion, Vietnam is leading a business delegation of approximately 20 companies representing key sectors such as energy, minerals, infrastructure and construction, food processing, and industrial–technological manufacturing. This list includes several notable companies such as: PetroVietnam, Becamex Group, Viettel Group, VEAM...

Speakers will outline actionable opportunities for Canadian companies to expand into one of Asia’s fastest‑growing and most strategically positioned markets. With Vietnam accelerating its industrial upgrading, green transition, and supply‑chain diversification, Canadian capabilities in clean technologies, infrastructure, agri‑food, digital solutions, and critical minerals are in exceptionally high demand. In addition, the Forum will underscore Vietnam’s role as an emerging regional production hub—offering Canadian firms a timely opportunity to secure early‑mover advantages in sectors where demand is rising rapidly. Presentations will highlight concrete partnership models, regulatory pathways, and real business cases showing how Canadian firms can capture new market share, secure long‑term contracts, and integrate into Vietnam’s evolving supply chains. The Forum is also structured to help Canadian businesses identify immediate entry points, meet potential Vietnamese partners, and position themselves in one market where demand is rising sharply.
