This workshop will focus on making clay vessels inspired by mid-century modern ceramics that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
About this Event

Join us for a four-session workshop inspired by Seeds of Regionalism The Clauss Legacy: Early Modernism in the South currently on view at the Knoxville Museum of Art. Explore hand building techniques to create unique, functional sculptures out of clay.

Clay and clay materials will be provided for every student, however, participants are encouraged to bring a smock, apron, or clothing that can get dirty.

This class is open to all skill levels.

This class meets on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 5:30pm- 8:00pm

We are excited to have local artist and educator, Vanessa Hartman, teaching her first class at the KMA. Vanessa is an active member of the Knoxville artist community and was the 2021 Artist In Residence at Mighty Mud Pottery Studio.
