About the Instructor:
Emanuel “Manny” Chacon is a dancer, choreographer, and educator from Wilmington, Delaware with over 15 years of experience in performance and cultural arts education. His movement practice spans Capoeira, Hip-Hop, Reggaeton, Afro-Latin and African diasporic movement, stepping, and more. A former company member of Step Afrika!, Manny made history as the company’s first Latino performer, touring across 45 states and more than 15 countries. His professional credits include performances in places such as the White House and Kennedy Center, commercial campaigns, and work for artists including Kid ’n Play, MC Lyte, Don Miguelo, Farruko, and Taylor Dayne.

Today, Manny serves as Assistant Director of Dance for Student Performing Arts at Villanova University, Artistic Director and Curator of Wilmington’s Cityfest Dance Jubilee, and founder of La Cultura Dance Collective. Across these roles, he is passionate about using dance to celebrate culture, build community, and create meaningful connections across the African and Latin diasporas. Through his teaching and artistic work, Manny encourages dancers to move with intention while exploring the cultural roots, history, and influences that shape the movement.

Info: Next, we’ll build your Reggaeton dance foundation with fun, dynamic steps, body awareness, and a touch of cultural context that brings each move to life.
