La reina del roots reggae, Dezarie, bendijo a la comunidad reggae en 2003 con uno de los álbumes más impactantes de todos los tiempos: "Gracious Mama Africa". Publicado por el sello Afrikan Roots Lab, este álbum surgió de la semilla plantada en su asombroso álbum debut de 2001, "FYA".
"Gracious Mama Africa" lleva la increíble voz de Dezarie a un nivel completamente nuevo: las más altas cotas. Su base se asienta firmemente en canciones como "Travelers" y la que da título al álbum. El brillo y la claridad de la voz de Dezarie se revelan con reverencia en "Exhalt". "Gracious Mama Africa" rebosa de súplicas por la justicia social y la igualdad racial con temas como "Poverty", "Strengthen Your Mind" y "Justice".

Gracious Mama Africa transports the incredible voice of Dezarie to a whole new level - the highest heights. Her foundation is firmly established on songs such as "Travelers" and the title track. After receiving Atlanta's "Best New Female Reggae Artist" award in 2001, Dezarie returned to her native island of St. Croix. Since that time, she has been working closely with Midnite’s Ron Benjamin.
