Ever dreamed of stepping through the pages of a Jane Austen novel or wondered what it was really like to dance in a Regency ballroom?
Consider this your invitation to unlock a new side quest: prepare your dance card, dress in your finest empire-waist gown, and let the esteemed Mrs Bennet, a specialist in 1700s dancing, teach you the elegant steps, proper ettiqute and social dances of the era.
So join the petticoat collective on the 25th of July 2026 at 12:30 PM (BST) at the beautiful Cecil Sharp House, home of the English Folk Dance and Song Society. You'll be Taught in a hall purpose-built for a proper ball!
Perfect for women of all ages, backgrounds and experience levels, whether you're a complete beginner or a pro. If you're looking for a unique way to spend a summer afternoon in London, this is the perfect event for you!
Proudly organised by Muslim women of colour, this all-women event offers a warm, inclusive space to learn a historic dance tradition, meet like-minded women, and enjoy an afternoon of gossip, laughter, and movement.
