6th Annual Living Waters Refugee Walk Who: You (and your Family).
What: Raise awareness and support walking for Refugees around the world.
When: Saturday October 2nd – 8am/930am to 12 Noon
Where: Living Waters Church and Rock Island Trail.
Why: 82.4 million men, women, and children have been displaced from their homes by war, persecution, and disaster. This is more than 1% of the world’s population.
How:
• Walk 5 Miles, 1.4 Miles, or 1 Step and attempt to understand some of the decisions and struggles that Refugees face each day.
• Hear messages from Tim Barnes - International Association for Refugees and Kaylee Fisher - World Relief Quad Cities on how you can help those that have been displaced.
Show the Love of Jesus to Refugees “Where they are at!”
For donations to help provide support to Refugees around the world, checks can be made out to Living Waters Church with Refugees in the memo line, or online at livingwaterspeoria.com/donate by selecting “Refugee Walk”.
With 100% of every $150 raised, you will help provide the following:
• In our neighborhoods – Financial, emotional, cultural, and spiritual support to Refugees who are placed in the U.S. through World Relief Quad Cities.
• In refugee camps – 3+ Bibles to households in refugee camps in Malawi and Kenya to help strengthen their faith through International Association for Refugees.
• Still out on the trail – An Action Pack filled with daily essentials and a Bible or Gospel storybook to Refugees around the world through The Voice of the Martyrs.
In the past five years, over 250 walkers have traveled more than 1,425 miles together and raised $15,319 to help provide 198 Action Packs, 595 Bibles, and local support for Refugees.
