About this Event

Destination Relaxation awaits! RefreshED STL is a free wellness and relaxation day for educators, administrators, and school support staff from St. Louis County and St. Louis City schools, including public, private, parochial, and charter institutions.

Enjoy restorative wellness sessions, free breakfast and lunch, therapy dogs, raffle items, and more. Explore sessions in movement and wellness, personal growth and reflection, creative wellness, and mindfulness and restoration.

Workshop Sessions
Sound Healing & Chronic Stress: How Sound Healing as a Practice Helps You
Host: South City Sound

Info: Participants will gain an understanding of why sound healing works and how adopting the practice can lower their stress and improve their health over time. They will also experience a 30 minute sound bath.


Inhale Peace Exhale Stress
Host: Shawinca Andrews

Info: Participants will learn the benefits of aromatherapy for relaxation and everyday well-being. They will be able to create their own calming spray and leave with simple take home strategies to support emotional wellness as well as a mindfulness journal.


Reset & Rise: Mindful Movement for the Youth Wellness and Emotional Balance
Host: The Oxygen Project: Yoga for the Youth

Info: Attendees will participate in an interactive, trauma-informed experience featuring grounding practices, breathwork, and accessible yoga-based movement. They will explore how these practices can help young people reduce stress, regulate emotions, improve focus, and develop healthy coping skills. The workshop will demonstrate simple, age-appropriate activities that educators and youth-serving professionals can use in classrooms, programs, and community settings. No prior yoga experience is required. Attendees will leave with practical strategies and a resource handout they can immediately use with youth.


Brain Recess: EF Playground
Host: Caroline Mug Coaching

Info: With the demands of school and daily life, everyone's brain needs a recess from the constant overload we manage. Join me for a session of fun, hands-on activities that give your brain the break and play it craves. Through a few playful, low-stakes games, you'll practice executive functioning skills like prioritizing, working memory, and flexibility. Leave feeling refreshed and re-energized, with strategies you can use all year long, including in your own classroom the next time you or your students' brains need a break. This session puts the FUN in executive function, and you'll walk away smiling.


Pause & Pour: A Candle Making and Self-Care Experience
Host: Crescent Collection

Info: Pause & Pour is a relaxing candle-making and self-care experience designed to help you slow down and recharge. Attendees will learn the basics of candle making, including fragrance selection, wax preparation, and proper candle care. Each guest will hand-pour and personalize their own soy candle while enjoying a calm, welcoming atmosphere. We’ll also encourage intentional self-care by helping participants schedule a meaningful moment to enjoy the candle they’ve created. Guests will leave with a handcrafted candle and a reminder to pour into themselves as much as they pour into others.

Info: Enjoy a brief West African dance class followed by tips and resources for establishing or maintaining journaling and meditation practices.


The Mindful Maker: Shrink Art and Braided Keychain
Host: Uniquely U

Info: Welcome to your well-deserved creative recess! In this hands-on workshop, you will unwind by coloring vibrant, oven-baked shrinky dink charms and mastering colorful, braided lanyard keychains. It is the perfect opportunity to chat with fellow educators, listen to good music, and let your inner child dilly dally! Best of all, you will leave the session with a beautifully completed custom keychain ready to use or gift. Come shrink your stress, braid away the tension, and walk away with tangible reminders of your creativity and inner child!


Sip & Sculpt
Host: Flourish Wellness

Info: We will start with hydration of either energy or hydration supplement, followed by dynamic stretching to warm up the body. Next the full body workout will consist on movement with our own weight challenging the body and mind to connect as we work from legs to shoulders in a series of exercises. Lastly we will stretch and set our breathing back to baseline. Participants will choose their supplement (hydration or Energy) to add to water bottle (provided) and leave with a habit tracker to set goals for future movement practices/ exercises.


Dream. Believe. Become. Create A Vison Board That Creates The Life You Imagin
Host: Maggie Travers

Info: In this interactive workshop, educators will pause from the demands of their day to reflect on what truly supports their well-being and professional fulfillment. Participants will explore how visualization and intentional goal setting can strengthen resilience, reduce stress, and foster a greater sense of balance. Through a guided reflection and creative vision board activity, attendees will identify meaningful personal and professional wellness goals that align with their values. The workshop also includes simple mindfulness practices that can be incorporated into daily routines to sustain motivation throughout the school year. Participants will leave with a personalized wellness vision board, practical self-care strategies, and renewed inspiration to prioritize their own well-being while continuing to support others.
