Watch as Dan Friday sculpts molten hot glass into something beautiful. Listen to the on-site host narrate the presentation and share the secrets of glassmaking. Dan Friday is an artist, glassblower of 25+ years, and recently seen on Season 3 of Netflix’s ‘Blown Away’ Television series. As a key contributor to the Studio Glass Movement, Friday spent years working for trailblazing artists such as Dale Chihuly, Paul Marioni, and Preston Singletary. Friday has taught glassblowing classes at the University of Washington, Pilchuck Glass School, and Haystack Mountain School of Crafts. To further his personal artistic practice, Friday received residencies and research grants from the Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture, Corning Museum of Glass (New York), Museum of Glass - Tacoma, and the Southwestern Association for Indian Arts. He draws inspiration from his Coast Salish cultural heritage. Dan Friday’s museum exhibition debut, ‘Future Artifacts,’ at the Museum of Northwest Art (La Conner, WA) drew thousands of visitors in 2021.
