Due to weather event has been rescheduled to March 18th. Historically Tulsa has been blessed with a robust urban forest, especially in mid town Tulsa. Those trees helped mitigate the heat island effect of urban infrastructure. But the Father's day storm in June 2023 destroyed a number of magnificent old trees. Karen Harris and Joes Marcoux are strong proponents of replanting our urban forest with native trees. Karen Harris is a retired science teacher and now a volunteer naturalist at Oxley Nature Center. Joe Marcoux in his retirement has been growing native trees and shrubs from seed which he donates to Oxley's annual tree and book sale. Meetings are free and open to the public at the Tulsa Garden Center. Social time begins at 6:30 pm with the program at 7:00 pm
