This workshop is open for actors with some experience and/or acting training.
To prepare for this workshop you will learn a monologue or dialogue scene of about 2 minutes.
All scenes will be filmed with a pro camera and can be used for showreel.

ReFocusMethod is a practical approach that removes psychological complexity in acting, making it more simple, joyful and clearer.
It makes a performance more consistent and convincing, especially when the preparation time for a take or a scene is short.
The method emphasises the presence, the now, helping actors direct their attention with precision, and balancing muscle tension, breathing and movement to convey genuine emotions.
ReFocusMethod traces its roots to the Swedish National Acting Academy in the 1960s, where Andris Blekte (1923-2007), taught for more than 30 years and became well known for his techniques and exercises in relaxation and body awareness.
Tony Grahn started working as a professional actor in 1986. He graduated from the Swedish National Acting Academy in 1991. After a profound experience he had during one of Andris Blekte’s classes Tony decided to bring his technique further. In 1996 he graduated from Drama Studio London as a director. Tony started teaching Andris method at The Actors Centre London in 1999. Since then, he has been teaching ReFocusMethod workshops and masterclasses to actors and singers in the UK and Europe.
Day 1,
After a short theoretical introduction over the ReFocusMethod we will work with exercises to create a strong awareness of the tensions in the body, tics and physical habits. Further we work with exercises in how to direct attention (focus) on specific things in a scene and how to develop a strong listening and connecting to the other character. The purpose is to get out of the head and create strong presence and be able to deliver text, movements and authentic emotions fully believable. At the end of the day, we will apply these skills in short dramatic situations.
Day 2
After a short recap from day one we will work with exercises to easy access strong emotions within a short time of preparation, without a complex and psychological process. Working with monologues and scenes we will continue the day by exploring how to really connect with the other character and deliver lines fully believable.
Day 3,
Shooting day.
A professional camera man/women will film the scenes all day, we will look back for feedback and analyses. All participants will end up with about three full takes to be used for a showreel if wanted.

Time: 10-18 all days.
