About this Event

Course Title: Reflexology for Cancer and Supportive Care

Description: This intensive 2-day course is designed for qualified reflexologists looking to enhance their skills in cancer and supportive care settings. With a strong emphasis on practical application, you’ll learn to adapt reflexology techniques to safely and effectively support patients when traditional methods may not be suitable or are contraindicated. While key theoretical concepts will be covered, the focus is on building confidence and competence through hands-on learning.

Our tutors bring over 25 years of combined experience working directly with patients at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust and other cancer and supportive care settings. They also have extensive expertise across various therapeutic disciplines within the healthcare, charity, and private sectors, ensuring you benefit from their comprehensive knowledge and practical insights.

Dates/Time: 3rd and 4th October 2026 (0930-1630)

Prerequisite: Applicants must hold a minimum of a UK Level 3 Diploma in Reflexology (or equivalent, with a Level 3 certificate in Anatomy and Physiology). A minimum of one year of professional therapeutic experience, with supporting evidence. Applicants who do not meet the standard entry requirement will be subject to a review by Integrative Therapies Training Unit on a case-to-case basis. In such cases, candidates may be required to complete the Understanding Cancer: For Integrative Therapists & Health Care Professionals course as part of their application process. Note: The Integrated Therapies Training Unit (ITTU) continuously strives to provide current, evidence-based educational events to equip Integrative Therapists and Health Care Professionals with relevant skills and knowledge to apply in their roles.

Although many of the courses discuss ways of adapting practice when providing therapies to patients with a cancer diagnosis, we maintain that the aims of our educational events are to increase understanding of cancer and the delivery of suitable complementary therapies for therapeutic purposes in this patient cohort. Therapies are to be offered alongside medical treatment as a means to enhance physical and psychological wellbeing, and never as a treatment for the underlying cancer.
