Reflection: Exhibition of Porcelain Portraits by Hope Hummingbird

Over the past few months, Hope Hummingbird has been interviewing, photographing and creating one-of-a-kind porcelain portraits to serve as a timeless reminder of the vibrant artistic tapestry of Austin.

By adorning walls with these portraits arranged like a family album, Reflection prompts viewers to reflect on the fleeting nature of the present moment, urging them to appreciate and celebrate the diverse talents shaping their surroundings.

Alongside the portraits, there will be porcelain impressions of the footprints of the featured local creatives to be a tangible representation of the ephemeral moments of interaction with individuals in the community. Each footprint symbolizes a unique encounter and the importance of being grateful for these moments.

We invite you to appreciate the significance of each fleeting encounter. The influence of these creatives is ephemeral if we don’t support and acknowledge their unique contribution to our city.

Durante los últimos meses, Hope Hummingbird ha estado entrevistando, fotografiando y creando retratos de porcelana únicos que sirven como un recordatorio atemporal del vibrante tapiz artístico de Austin.

Al adornar las paredes con estos retratos dispuestos como un álbum familiar, Reflexión incita a los espectadores a reflexionar sobre la naturaleza fugaz del momento presente, instándolos a apreciar y celebrar los diversos talentos que dan forma a su entorno.

Junto a los retratos, habrá impresiones en porcelana de las huellas de los creativos locales destacados para que sean una representación tangible de los momentos efímeros de interacción con las personas de la comunidad. Cada huella simboliza un encuentro único y la importancia de estar agradecido por estos momentos.
