You walk into a crowded room, repeat the same introduction, exchange contact information, and hope one of those conversations eventually becomes useful.
Referral Table Chicago is designed differently.
This is a small networking dinner built around two things:
One Ask: something specific you need help finding, understanding, or solving.
One Offer: something useful you can genuinely contribute to another person at the table.
Before the dinner, every in-person attendee completes a short Ask / Offer form.
The host reviews those responses and prepares conversation matches designed around relevance rather than randomness.
During dinner, you will move through three structured conversations before everyone comes together for a Referral Round.
The objective is not to meet as many people as possible.
It is to leave with a smaller number of conversations that are actually worth continuing.
How It Works
Your Ask might be:
“I would like to meet an accountant who works with independent professionals.”
“I am looking for someone experienced in local SEO.”
“I need advice on hiring my first contractor.”
“I would like to understand how another small business handles client onboarding.”
Your Offer might be:
“I can review a landing page.”
“I know several local photographers.”
“I can share the project-management system I use.”
“I have experience working with independent contractors.”
You do not need a polished elevator pitch.
Come prepared to explain one real need clearly and contribute something useful to somebody else.
