Referendum Teach-In

On Oct. 19th, Albertans will go to the polls to vote on 10 questions.

These questions range from whether Alberta should stay in Canada, whether immigrants should be able to access education and healthcare to whether we should change the Canadian constitution. All of these questions are being asked in bad faith. They aim to centralize power in Alberta's provincial government and create a permissive structure for xenophobia and racism.

The Joyful Dinos are hosting a teach-in to discuss the ins and outs of the referendum and have a panel discussion with speakers including Ricardo Acuna and Senator Paula Simons. After short presentations from our speakers, we will engage in Q & A conversations about the implications of the referendum questions, mail-in and advanced poll voting, and how to support referendum voters. The goal is to connect and enable people to push back against the referendum!
