Reel Crafts is the craft-friendly film series from Circle Cinema and Community Craft. We’ll keep the lights half-raised during the film and guests are encouraged to enjoy a personal craft project to work on during the film. Community Craft will be in the lobby with some craft kits on sale before the film, or you can bring your own quiet craft project like knitting, coloring, beadwork, and more. Then at 7pm, Community Craft’s Mary Make & Do will introduce How to Make an American Quilt, the beloved 1995 coming-of-age story starring Winona Ryder. Tickets on sale now, $11 members and $13 non-members.

Soon-to-be-wed graduate student Finn Dodd (Winona Ryder) develops cold feet when she suspects her fiancé is cheating on her. In order to clear her head, Finn visits her grandmother, Hy (Ellen Burstyn), and great aunt, Glady Joe Cleary (Anne Bancroft), in Grasse, Calif. There, Finn learns that Hy and Glady Joe are members of a group of passionate quilters, and over the course of her visit she is regaled with tales of love and life by women who have collected rich experiences and much wisdom.
