About this Event
Reduction Linocut (4 weeks)
Thursdays, April 16 - May 7, 2026
6:30pm - 9:30pm
Instructor: Karen Klee-Atlin
Class Capacity: 6 participants
Materials included | No prior experience needed | All skill levels welcome
This class will introduce participants to reductive relief printmaking using linoleum. Reductive relief uses a single plate which is carved for each successive layer of colour. You'll learn how to mix colours and how to register plates for editions, as well as exploring unique and variegated prints.
This class is open to all levels and is perfect for those beginning relief printmaking as well as for more experienced printers interested in exploring and combining various techniques.
Participants will be carving into a 8" x 10" lino plate. Please bring inspiration in the form of sketches or photos appropriate for thease dimensions.
About the Instructor: Karen Klee-Atlin was born in Toronto and has lived across Canada, the United States, Mexico, Peru, and the Philippines, teaching art and developing her studio practice. Originally a painter, she now focuses on woodcuts, linocuts, and monoprints, reflecting many years of experience in printmaking. Karen maintains her own studio in Toronto and is a member of Propeller Gallery in Toronto and Shift Gallery in Seattle, Washington.
