Does your passport truly reflect who you are? Join us at CUNY Law for an interactive documentary screening and open debate exploring unrecog
About this Event

When you migrate from a stateless nation, the official system often erases your true roots. A Basque becomes "Spanish," a Mixtec becomes "Latino." Official borders force us into boxes that ignore our language, culture, and true identity.

Welcome to Redrawing Borders, a unique live experience brought to you by the creators of the independent documentary series Nortasuna Lekuz Kanpo (Identity Out of Place).

Join international students, law scholars, and migrant communities for an evening of guerrilla filmmaking, cultural exchange, and deep conversations about what it means to belong to a place "off the map."

WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • 🎬 Exclusive NYC Teaser Screening: Be the first to see raw footage from our global documentary.
  • 🌍 Meet the Unrecognized Nations: Discover the hidden stories behind the official map.
  • 🗣️ Open Debate - "Does your passport define you?": Engage in guided round-table discussions.
  • 🤝 Unexpected Connections & Hidden Roots: Meet the people around you on a deeper level (with a few surprise activities!).

BONUS: WE ARE CASTING! Are your roots "off the map"? We are actively recording testimonies for the NYC episode until March 25th. Write to our email [email protected] or through our website nortasunalekuzkanpo.kanu.eus!
