If you love red wine and you love cheese, chances are, you already know how fabulous they are together! The salty sharp tang of the cheese seems to soften and smooth out the red wine, bringing its fruity flavours to the fore.
We aren't here to reinvent the wheel; we've picked 6 sumptuous cheeses from our fabulous award winning suppliers like Courtyard Dairy or George and Joseph and come up with 6 glorious wines to match them. We take our pairing seriously! You can rest assured that we've tested and re-tasted every match to ensure we bring you a range of fascinating wines and cheeses (tough job!).
Expect a few classic wines and classic cheese combos, there might be a Chianti Classico and a wedge of Parmesan, or maybe a Rioja Reserva and a mouthful of Manchego. But also expect a few new pairings to turn your head. We've been quite taken with the mixture of Malbec and the mature Irish goat Gouda called Kileen. The Greek Xinomavro has also proved a hit when enjoyed with a piece of Old Sparkenhoe Red Leicester. Experience the sensory delights of warming red wines and meltingly good cheese, paired together, with a twist or two!
