What does the Red Tent look like?
Imagine being greeted into a warm space, candles burning in the corner. Your hands and face are anointed with rose or lavender oil, carefully sourced from across the world. You smell sage and frankincense all around you, and your eyes are met with beautifiul impressions of burgundy, pink and white in the decoration of the space. You come together in circle as women, to talk, to share, to do somatic excercises (like, dance, working with clay: crafiting your own goddess) and are reminded of your power as a woman. You laugh (maybe you cry) - all is welcome in the Red Tent.

You leave feeling seen, heard and rejuvinated - and in love with your menstrual cycle.

You feel blessed to be born a woman.

What is the Red Tent?

The Red Tent is the sacred forgotten rite of womanhood. It is a celebration of being a woman and all what this encompasses: menstruation, celebrating the first menses, our monthly cycle, our emotional states and life initiations. It is also a portal to meet women in sisterhood and support each other through pregnancy, grief, miscarriage, loss or abuse. When we come together in our power as women, the energy and transformation is life-changing!

What is yoni steaming?

Yoni steaming is an ancient practise of cultivating and maintaining womb health. It facilitates your connection with your heart, body and soul. A concoction of medicinal herbs are carefully boiled and the steam lovingly applied to our yoni and womb by finding a comfortable squatting position over a steaming vessel.

Traditional herbs for women's health are regarded as safe for use: Rosemary, Mugwort, Raspberry Leaf, Chamomile and Rose to name a few.

This is at your own bodies discretion which is the most beautiful part of this practise. You must feel into your body and intuition as to what is right for you. That said, it is not advisable to steam during your inner winter and beginning of your cycle, while you are bleeding, nor during ovulation (or the day of ovulation) as the steam can invite more intensity.

Loving your womb is loving yourself. How deep will you go in relationship with Her?

What if I have paid and I am on my period, or decide I do not want to steam? No worries at all. You can still come to the Red Tent, learn about the history and culture, hold space for the women and assist Maxime in space facilitation. Your journey would be a different one, yet still beautiful as you will be trained and guided by Maxime how to hold sacred space and transformation in regards to the womb and yoni steaming.

What to expect

You will be lovingly greeted by Maxime as in every Red Tent. In preperation for the steaming ceremony, you will be run through the logistics, the benefits of yoni steaming and have time to ask any questions before we begin. The ceremony includes creating a sacred space with an intentional opening and closing ceremony.

What to bring

• Bring a long skirt that goes down to your ankles;
• Bring a towel;
• A journal;
• Any altar offerings (flowers, crystals, a leaf - an object of nature);
• And a small kitchen pot (you may want to purchase a small pot just for yoni steaming and not cooking to keep the energy clear, clean and intentional).

About Maxime

I am certified Red Tent facilitator (De’Anna Lam) and Life Coach and NLP Master Practitioner (Global NLP). I hold a MA in Conflict Mediation in Commercial and Civil Law (Universitat de Barcelona) and have spent my life dedicated to understanding human consciousness and how this relates to our behaviour. I have experienced the powerful transformation of the Red Tent. My mission is to empower women in their womanhood and connect them to the gift of their menstrual cycle.
