Red Tent Women’s Circle: Persephone & the Descent of the Feminine

The Red Tent is an ancient tradition—rooted in biblical times and carried forward through generations of women who gathered during their bleeding, birthing, and rites of passage to rest, reflect, and renew. Today, it lives on as a sacred space for the modern woman in all her forms: maiden, mother, and crone.

This November, we gather under the spell of Scorpio season—a time of depth, transformation, and truth. Our focus will be on Persephone, goddess of both spring and the underworld. Her myth reminds us that descent is not punishment, but initiation: a sacred journey into the hidden places of the soul where real power and self-knowledge are born.

Through ritual, reflection, and the gentle holding of circle, we will explore the feminine descent—what it means to meet our shadows with compassion, to release what no longer serves, and to rise renewed. Together, we’ll soften into questions of transformation, surrender, and trust:
What is asking to be shed? What truth lies beneath the surface? What part of me is ready to be reborn?

This circle is for all who identify as women, especially:

• Maidens – girls, teens, and women in early womanhood
• Mothers – of children, of visions, of themselves
• Crones – post-menopausal elders and feminine wisdom keepers

Babies and daughters are welcome in circle. A sitter will be available for children who do not join—a $10 donation per family is requested to support this offering.

• Grounding ritual to begin
• A softly held sharing circle (speaking is always optional)
• Reflection on Persephone and the feminine descent: shadow, transformation, and renewal
• Tea, gentle sensory elements, and the medicine of presence

This is not a workshop. Not a class. It’s a return.
