Red Tape & Roadblocks 2024

In collaboration with the Literacy Network of Durham Region, this interactive experience promises to offer participants a firsthand understanding of the hurdles those seeking assistance face with food, housing, finances, and other labour market attachment challenges. It will promote awareness and education of current community resources.

Through engaging activities, attendees will gain insight into the realities of navigating the support systems available in our community and learn about existing resources.

Participants will be assigned a persona and challenged to step into the shoes of that avatar, undertaking tasks aimed at achieving the life stabilization goals provided. This immersive approach will involve physically navigating the venue to access various types of support required by their personas.

By experiencing the maze-like journey, attendees will gain valuable insights into the common barriers encountered by individuals seeking help within our community. Following the interactive portion of the event, everyone will come together for a facilitated session to reflect on and discuss their experiences.
