About this Event
Using the bright red MAGA hat as a starting point, learn about how colour is used as a tool in contemporary politics. From creating a shared sense of community to communicating a sense of radical dissent from the norms, colour informs how we present ourselves politically in the digital, visual age.
Find out why some commentators coined the term 'hat crimes', why the Harris-Walz merchandise was so successful, and how different candidates use colour differently to construct their political appeal.
This event is held at the Northumbria University School of Design in the ground-floor lecture theatre.
This event is hosted by Colour Collective UK, a not-for-profit association which brings colour education to the North. All tickets are free but any donations to enable us to continue putting on events are much appreciated.
