Red Hot Ramble is a celebrated Toronto–based ensemble bringing the vibrant spirit of New Orleans–style traditional jazz to today’s audiences. At the heart of the band is Roberta Hunt, an acclaimed pianist and vocalist who spent 14 years with the legendary Happy Pals—a cornerstone of Toronto’s traditional jazz scene with weekly performances at Grossman’s Tavern for more than four decades. Seeking new musical horizons, Hunt embarked on a fresh chapter that would soon evolve into something exceptional.Joined by Glenn Anderson and Jack Zorawski, longtime collaborators of renowned jump-blues artist Big Rude Jake, and rising saxophone star Alison Young, the group’s chemistry was immediate and undeniable. The addition of trombonist Jamie Stager, another Big Rude Jake alumnus, completed the ensemble, transforming Red Hot Ramble into a dynamic quintet. Together, they deliver sophisticated, energetic performances rooted in jazz tradition yet alive with spontaneity and warmth. Recently celebrating five years of live performances, Red Hot Ramble continues to delight audiences wherever music and people come together.
