Still living at home and unable to find the connection he craves in romantic relationships, Andy (Booth McGowan) returns to childhood best friend Ray (Papa Mbye) to fill the void. But reconnected after a year apart, they struggle to recapture their once effortless closeness.

As the filmmaker embarks on a journey to uncover the mystery behind an obscure film adaptation of Jorge Luis Borges’ The Intruder, Caio exposes the stories of sexual enslavement by military dictatorship which forces himself to resolve his own childhood trauma.

Director: Lee Davis
The feature film directing debut of Spike Lee protege Lee Davis takes viewers into the world of New York City taxi drivers with performances by cinema legends Danny Glover, Pam Grier and Michelle Rodriguez. A Showtime Original Feature Film, this project was developed in collaboration with the Sundance Institute.

Sitting By a Body of Water in the Dark (Short 3 min 15 seconds)
Director: Mia Martelli
“Sitting by a body of water in the dark” is a love letter to vintage surf footage, re-set on the shorelines of Brooklyn. Martelli holds the ecstasy and dread of climate-change-related phenomena experienced in South Brooklyn through the lens of a super8 camera.

86’D is a film about a girl who works at a restaurant in New York and experiences all the crazy dynamics of the establishment and her coworkers.
I Remember You (Short 17 min 6 seconds)
Director: Sunyoung Kim
The film was created in Hook Arts Media's Digital Connections program.
Shop Screening (Short 3 minutes)
Director: Leif Larson
The film shows three friends installing a big movie screen on the roll gate of their woodshop in Red Hook. The shop is located by the Red Hook Farm. A screening was later hosted that night for friends.
6:30 PM: Brooklyn Cinema Forum: Sambizanga (1972) (Feature 102 Minutes )
Director: Sarah Maldoror
Based on a true story, Sambizanga follows a young woman as she makes her way from the outskirts of Luanda toward the city’s center looking for her husband after his arrest by the Portuguese authorities—an incident that will ultimately help to ignite a national uprising.
8:15 PM The Politics of Resistance: Film Historian Samm Deighan
Samm Deighan is a New York City–based film historian, author of The Legacy of World War II in European Arthouse Cinema, editor of Revolution in 35mm: Political Violence and Resistance in Cinema from the Arthouse to the Grindhouse, and host of the Eros + Massacre podcast. She joins us for a pre-election day chat on the films of political resistiance throughout history.

A dark and powerful tale of the passing existence. The fallen angels watching from another world beyond, but can’t do anything about the suffering and brutality. Their presence and touch are not felt.
