Enjoy the musical talents of the Swamp Poets and Jack OC & The Alien on Friday, May 17 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at Posse Grounds Pavilion! This event is free and everyone is welcome.
The Swamp Poets are a popular, critically acclaimed and award-winning American Roots Based Music Band out of Northern Arizona. Their "Hoodoo Du Voodoo?" album is currently receiving worldwide radio airplay on over 100 radio stations. Band leader Christian Michael Berry is a two-time nominee for the Arizona Blues Hall of Fame and two-time winner of the Northern Arizona International Blues Challenge. Blues Harp player Taul Paul Epoch is a one-time nominee for the AZ Blues Hall of Fame and One time winner of the Northern AZ International Blues Challenge. Lead Guitarist and co singer/songwriter Devil Don Whitcher is a one-time winner of the Northern AZ International Blues Challenge.
A storyteller with a guitar backed by a country/rock band, Jack OC and The Alien is a local Arizona group that takes inspiration from a variety of genres while rejecting the standardization found in their most popular forms. Although bearing seemingly polarizing artistry, Jack OC and The Alien joined forces in 2022 when they began playing their head-turning catalog of songs across the state of Arizona. Gaining friends and sit-in musical talents along the way, they put their work to record with producer Max Harms at The Garage in Camp Verde with session players like Pete Posie, Taylor Raynor, David Lipkind, and Max Harms himself. Neither Jack OC nor The Alien know exactly why they play music, but the passion behind the performance and the emotion within the lyrics leads the listener to believe they must have something to get off their chest.
This year’s Spring Red Dirt Concert Series will be held every Friday in May from 5:00 - 8:00 pm. Bring a blanket, chair, non-alcoholic beverage and a picnic dinner and enjoy the show at the beautiful Posse Grounds Pavilion, located at 525 Posse Grounds Rd. Learn more at www.sedonaaz.gov/concerts.
