Our Red Chair Lecture on Saturday Oct 26, 11:30-2 features the team that created "Wylie Finds a Dinosaur." This beautifully illustrated children's book tells the true story of Wylie, a 4-year-old boy who discovered a brand new species of dinosaur in Ellis county. Wylie's discovery earned him a place in the Guiness World Records and is now part of the collection of SMU's Schuler Museum of Paleontology. This is a family event, perfect for school aged kids! The author, Tim Brys, is a local science educator, and he will be bringing a collection of local fossils. His wife, Sarah, and son, Wylie will be reading from the book, and local Illustrator, Ann Huey, will be talking about her involvement with this project. After the presentation, please join us for free hotdogs and lemonade!
This series celebrates cultural lectures by artists, museum directors, performing artists, and more. Snacks and drinks will be provided. This event is sponsored by Hill College - Burleson and Friends of Russell Farm Art Center.
