Recycling Workshop: Blooming Hubcaps

Create a unique work of art to hang in your garden or home using the humble hub cap.

Join Dallas artist Sharon Zigrossi as she returns to us at NHG for a fun afternoon of painting and learning new ways to artistically repurpose what we often throw away. Sharon will share her art techniques, tips and materials she has been using to make hubcaps - a single-use plastic - into Blooming Hub Caps, a recycled art for the past 20 years.

Hubcaps come in a variety of patterns which makes it easier to paint than a blank canvas. At this unique workshop, you'll just pick out the hub cap that speaks to you, select your color palette and have fun painting and adding embellishments. A glossy acrylic spray will be added to your creation at the end to accentuate your design and to protect it outdoors.

$85 each.In order to provice the best experience, our workshop is limited to only 20 attendees. All supplies are included, including a single, select hub cap that has been cleaned, primed, and ready for you to create. All art materials are provided including acrylic paint, brushes, aprons, bottlecaps, buttons and bling for embellishment. No previous painting experience is needed, and you'll leave with a finished work of art! Plus, they make a great eco-friendly gift.

Sharon finds artistic inspiration comes from her own garden: she has always found flowers fascinating and loves to deconstruct their structure and recreate their beauty with found objects. What started as simple yard art developed into more elaborate creations for indoor display that are one of a kind and eco-friendly. For over 20 years she has been capturing the essence of flowers in this truly imaginative way.
